CATTLE
9 Prime cattle, 2 Store cattle and 6 OTM”s were sold on Monday.
Prime cattle sold to 215p/kg for a 655kg Simmental heifer, from McGucken, Lyking, Sandwick, which realised £1408.25 to Williamson”s, Butcher, Kirkwall.

Simmental (565kg) Ross, Lenahowe, Sandwick (214p) £1209.10
Limousin (535kg) Tait, Campston, Toab (214p) £1144.90
Prime steers sold to 209p/kg for a Simmental, from McGucken, Lyking, Sandwick, which scaled 875kg and realised £1828.75, also to Williamsons.
Store heifers sold to 186p/kg for a 485kg Charolais, from Brodie, Sunnybank, St Ola, which realised £900.
OTM Cattle sold to 146.8p/kg for a 620kg Angus heifer, from Flaws, Nisthouse, Evie, which realised £910.
OTM Cows sold to 131.2p/kg for a 625kg Limousin, from Miller, Banks, Stronsay, which realised £820.
Top price per head for cows was £910 for a 700kg Simmental, from Skea, Garbo, Sanday (130p/kg)
Following the Cattle sale, 91 Prime hoggs, 21 Store hoggs and 108 Cast sheep were sold
SHEEP
Prime hoggs sold to 158.6p/kg for a pen of 12 Charollais, from Scott, Appiehouse, Stenness, which scaled 58kg and realised £92 which was also top gross price on the day.
