Cattle Sale

Forward for sale on Monday were 5 Prime Cattle, 121 Store Cattle & 14 OTM’s.
Prime Cattle sold to 208 p/kg for a Simmental Steer scaling 560 kilos from W S Garson, Huan, Sandwick realising £1164.80 purchased by Donaldsons Butcher and also for a Saler Steer scaling 580 kilos from Groat, Cloke, Dounby realising £1206.40 purchased by E Flett & Co.
A very mixed show of store cattle were cheaper in the week but sold well to recent rates with stronger cattle in big demand.
52 Store Steers averaged 187 p/kg and sold to a top of 210.6 p/kg for a pair of Charolais scaling 470 kilos from R Rendall, Dogtoo, Westray realising £990.
Top price per head was £1140 for a Limousin scaling 585 kilos from J & C Gray, Dalvenna, St Ola.
